What does a Stately Vows portrait cost?
Seeing your portraits costs nothing: your first 4 passes are free, and each paints 4 versions, so that is 16 watermarked previews. After that, 10 more passes cost $10; the clean digital pack is $44, prints start at $85 and canvas at $129. Shipping is included in the price, and tax is added at checkout.

How does it work?
Upload one to three photos of the two of you, choose a style, and 4 versions of that style appear in a few minutes. You pay only when you choose one to download or print.

Is it AI, and do you say so?
Yes. Every portrait is painted by OpenAI's image model from your photos and checked for likeness by Anthropic's Claude; no person paints or retouches it. Previews carry a "Stately Vows" watermark and an "AI-Generated · Stately Vows" mark, and every page of the site says the portraits are AI-generated.

What happens to our photos and faces?
Your photos are sent to OpenAI and Anthropic to paint and check the portrait, and are not stored on our servers. Neither company trains on them under its API terms, and we keep no face templates.

What styles are there?
There are 32 styles in 7 collections, from royalty and fine-art bridal to vintage film and adventure. Every style keeps both of your faces your own, never averaged into one.

Can we get it before the wedding?
The previews and the digital pack, yes: the versions appear in minutes and the download link is emailed as soon as you pay. For a print or canvas, allow a few days to make it plus shipping; we do not promise a delivery date.

Do we need a professional photograph?
No. A clear photo in which both faces are visible and well lit is enough. If you use a professional photographer's image, you need their permission to upload it.

What paper is a print made on?
The Giclée print is made by Prodigi in archival pigment inks on 200 gsm Enhanced Matte Art paper. The Hahnemühle print is on 308 gsm Hahnemühle Photo Rag, a 100% cotton paper.

How large can we print?
Most styles are painted at 1024 by 1536 pixels, which is sharpest at the smaller sizes, such as 8x12 and 12x18 inches. The larger sizes are sold, but they will look softer up close; for a big wall, a canvas viewed from across the room is kinder.

Where do you ship?
We ship to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. Prints and canvas are made by Prodigi, and apparel, blankets and phone cases by Printful.

Can we get a refund?
Every order is made for you, so sales are final and there are no returns for a change of mind. A damaged, defective, misprinted or lost order is replaced or refunded: email support@painted.app within 30 days.

Can we use our portraits commercially?
No. Your portraits are for personal, non-commercial use: keep them, print them, share them and give them as gifts. Selling them or using them to promote a business is not included.

What is the Wedding Archive?
It is a five-piece bundle: your couple portrait, plus art of your vows, a star map of your wedding night, a map of your venue and an illustration of your bouquet. The portrait arrives when you pay; the other four are prepared by the studio afterwards and emailed as each is finished.
