Refunds & Returns

Every portrait is painted for the two of you, and every print, canvas and garment is made to order after you pay. So sales are final and there are no returns for a change of mind. That is why you see your portraits first: your first 4 passes are free, each one paints 4 versions, and nothing is charged until you choose one.

When we replace or refund

• A print, canvas or product arrives damaged in transit.
• It is defective or misprinted: the wrong image, the wrong size, a print fault.
• An order never arrives.
• A paid download link does not work and we cannot send you one that does.

Email support@painted.app within 30 days of delivery (or of the expected delivery date, for a lost order) with your order email and a photo of the problem. We will send a replacement at no charge or refund what you paid for that item, and you do not need to send the damaged item back unless we ask.

What is not refundable

• A portrait you have already paid for, because you prefer another style or version. Start a new pass instead: after the free ones, 10 more cost $10.
• Passes you have bought and used.
• Colour or detail that differs slightly between your screen and paper. Screens glow and paper does not; a matte print is always a little softer than the preview.
• A large print that looks soft up close. Portraits are painted at 1024 by 1536 pixels for most styles, which is sharpest at the smaller sizes.

Cancelling

Write to us as soon as you can. A print order that has not gone into production can usually be cancelled and refunded in full. Once it is being printed, it cannot.

Your rights

Nothing here takes away a right you have under consumer protection law where you live. The full terms are in section 8 of our Terms of Service.
